this would not be advised if you are using heavy stone veneer
with no supports to the floor (hanging in the air from the ceiling). You
could have a structural engineer some type of metal support system & build
it yourself but the cost savings would be eaten up by the engineering firm.
You could however use a ''Look Like'' stone product that is very light
weight. You would start with the exhaust fan then the ducting to the outside. Once this is installed you can build up the framing, then attach the plywood or masonry underlayment (the stuff you attach the stones to) then the veneer. Lowes/Home Depot would most likely have to special order the product & it will be quite costly. The weight of the veneer will be ur biggest hurtle. At the very least a color brochure. You could also ask for the name of someone who used it around ur area. I believe they sell it by the Square (exterior grade 100 sq ft) or by the square foot (sq ft).
